Dialogue Talks: Political-Based Polarization

We are pleased to invite you to the next session of our Dialogue Talks series. Following successful events in Slovakia (Spoločná Cesta) and Hungary (Dialógus Platform Egyesület), the upcoming discussion is organized by Mozaiky Platform Dialog z.s.

The goal of this meeting is to provide an open platform for addressing pressing contemporary issues and to contribute to a better understanding of the challenges within today’s digital and globalized society. In an era of increasing fragmentation and ideological division, we will examine how these tensions impact social cohesion and interpersonal relationships.

Program Content
The panel discussion will move beyond surface-level politics to analyze the root causes of the „us versus them“ mentality. Our distinguished speakers will explore how ideological identities can either enrich democratic discourse or be manipulated into sources of systemic mistrust.

Key areas of focus will include:

The Dynamics of Division: Understanding how echo chambers and digital landscapes accelerate partisan polarization.
Identity and Discourse: Exploring how political affiliations have evolved into deeply personal social identities.
Strategies for Cohesion: Identifying practical tools and dialogic methods to foster mutual respect in a polarized landscape.
Building Trust: The role of civil society and academic institutions in restoring faith in shared social values.

Date: Monday, 18 May 2026, from 18:00 to 20:00
Venue: Protestant Theological Faculty of Charles University (ETF UK), Černá 646/9, 110 00 Prague 1, Lecture Hall B (1st Floor).
Admission: Free entry (Registration is required)

The panel discussion will be held in English. The event is intended for the general public, students, and anyone interested in the future of democratic dialogue and social stability. We look forward to your participation and to a constructive exchange of perspectives.

Best regards,
Mozaiky Platform Dialog z.s.
